Revells Ego
"Revy" as I call her was picked up in January 09 at a local horse auction. Normally I only glance at the horses to see if by chance there is anything worth looking at but don''t actually go look at the horses. I make it my own policy to stay strickly with the tack sale but I had brought a friend to the sale that had never been before and she insisted I go look at them.
We came to two stalls that had two extremely skinny horses in them. Revy was in better condition than the other mare although not quite as nicely put together, I also felt the older mare could possibly have issues due to malnutrition that would end up costing alot of vet money. So I told my friend I would try to buy one of them but I wasn''t going to spend very much.
The mares came up for auction and I was outbid on the older mare. I just couldn''t bring myself to go any higher for her as I really felt she was going to require alot of vet money that I did not have. Then Revy came up and for some reason no one was really bidding against me and I got her for a song. The only reason I can think is because she was a 3 yr old and unbroke. She is now in fabulous condition and maturing nicely. How a horse of this caliber ended up in the condition she did and at a hole in the wall horse sale I will never understand. I now have her in training with my good friend Audra and she is doing wonderful.
UPDATE Oct 2009: Revy is on her way to Venezuela where I hope she is a good cowhorse for her new owners and then a super broodmare.
